When we arrived, the home was closed to new admissions after multiple significant IPAC infractions. The team was exhausted and demoralized. Every time they fixed one issue, another surfaced. Some managers had quit, others had been let go, and morale was at the floor.

We didn’t just audit and patch. We organized every infraction into a single, prioritized plan, then rebuilt the underlying culture so the fixes would actually last. Using our AuditPPE tool, we put real structure behind hand hygiene, PPE, and environmental cleaning, and moved one step at a time until each non-compliance was closed and sustainable, including several issues that weren’t yet on the Ministry’s radar.

The Ministry re-inspection came back with zero IPAC non-compliances. Beyond compliance, the results held: outbreaks dropped from 9 to 3, with far fewer residents affected and, in most cases, no staff. UTIs fell 65% through antimicrobial stewardship, and wound infections fell 35% through proper MASD and pressure-ulcer prevention. The anxiety lifted because, for the first time, there was a structure the team could trust.
